Meet the Troop

Peter Bovino

Peter got his first dog, Brandy, on his 7th birthday. She was a feisty Springer Spaniel mix pup, and they were buddies. They shared their lives together for 13 years. When Brandy was young she had two litters; 17 puppies total. Peter was fortunate enough to watch both deliveries. He named all the puppies and helped find them loving homes. That profound experience inspired Peter to pursue his childhood passion, strengthening the human-canine relationship.

Since then, Peter has trained over a thousand dogs, hundreds of owners and worked in some of Los Angeles’s most successful board & training facilities. He saw that training alone was often not enough. The dogs also needed consistent exercise and exploration to live up to their full potential. A dog without outlets, no matter how well trained, will still develop behavior issues and be unfulfilled. This realization fueled the creation of K9 Trooperz; a company devoted to exercise, education and adventure!

Kishisa Ross

Kishisa spent 15 years as a professional modern dancer. Her leap from dancer to dog hiker was a natural one. Her love of exercise, nature, and animals set her on a course to explore the many hiking trails in the Los Angeles area. With Lily and Parker by her side, she has found that love, exercise and consistency help lessen the gap between owner and pet, and plenty of healthy treats never hurts! As co-owner of K9 Trooperz, Kishisa also assists Peter with distraction and socialization work. Here, their goal is to make dogs more comfortable and relaxed in stressful situations. Being a pet owner is truly a privilege and understanding his/her needs gives way to a well balanced relationship.

Lily and Parker

We’re Lily and Parker.  We were both rescued from bad situations-one of us from a shelter and the other from the streets of San Diego.  We help transition dogs into socialization walks, hikes and other training scenarios while grabbing a treat or two in the process.  Like all siblings, our temperaments are very different, but those differences help a variety of dogs find harmony in their home.
